“And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid. For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: the woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.”

Jonah is a prophecy about the coming exile of Israel. This is because the children of Israel as tol share their God with everyone on the earth. But they didn’t do this and fell away from not only their calling but also their God.
Jesus too will use Jonah as a type of his death and resurrection.

“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: And their contentions are like the bars of a castle. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; And with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favour of the LORD. The poor useth intreaties; But the rich answereth roughly. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
